If you’re already using a piece of software to send out cart abandonment emails, don’t simply rely on their default settings.

Try to customise them as best as possible. Your results can always improve with a little tweaking.

Set these up so that they trigger after a certain amount of time of inactivity.

If the subscriber doesn’t return to the site and complete their purchase then have this automation trigger within 3 hours.

Also we’re not just going to be sending one email, we want a whole series to gently move the subscriber back to the site to become a customer.

So, In email 1, we’re just going to use this as a reminder.

Don’t be too hasty in offering discounts here.

We just want them to remember that there are items in their cart.

We can send out the bribes later on.
